Building with precast concrete elements: Why even proven concepts must be made fit for the future

Munich , 10/12/2022

Construction methods and materials of tomorrow – this year's key theme of Bauma in Munich reflects like hardly anything else the dynamics at Weckenmann Anlagentechnik GmbH & Co. KG: In addition to a wide variety of new developments, there have also recently been changes in the management team: Hermann Weckenmann retired; Wolfgang Weckenmann and Martin Schatz are now directing the company's fortunes as a dual leader and with Greta Weckenmann the company has entered the third generation. All that supports and ensures the sustainable orientation of the traditional company, which presents itself at this year's BAUMA in its 65th year of existence as a strong partner for the development and realisation of new building concepts.

„New ways“ - so short and so concise is this year's motto of the Weckenmann Anlagentechnik GmbH & Co. KG at BAUMA. In this way, the new leaders are not only expressing the will but above all the ability for a process of change that the construction industry now needs. In addition to the corresponding mechanical engineering and plant construction expertise, Weckenmann also has grown know-how in process engineering and logistics for the construction industry. This fits in with BAUMA, which – now for the 33rd time - presents in Munich everything it needs for the successful construction of the future. In addition, topics such as technology partnerships for new building concepts, serial construction as well as modernization & retrofit of existing systems are on the trade fair agenda of the Weckenmann team.

For a long time now, the experts have been enriching their many years of expertise in mechanical engineering, logistics and process technology for the production of precast concrete elements with a great deal of innovative spirit: Thus, Weckenmann is well prepared if the demand for high-quality precast concrete elements continues to grow disproportionately. BAUMA proves to be the optimal venue for presenting innovations and proven solutions. Not least, innovative compaction systems for all applications will be presented, and our experts will be happy to explain their design and retrofitting options to potentially interested parties on site. Furthermore, plant concepts for the production of modern building concepts will be presented and this is only one of many ideas around sustainable building, such as plants for the production of precast concrete elements with carbon reinforcement. The Weckenmann Bauma team is also looking forward to the dialogue on topics/questions such as "Automation", "What contribution can the precast concrete industry make to more sustainability", "What forward-looking possibilities are there in new concepts for plants, materials or in serial construction?", "How can resource use and costs be optimised by modernising plants?". All of these are keywords that not only exemplify the inventiveness at Weckenmann, but also make the family business a very interesting employer – also for the next generation. It is the combination of "new way" and the tried and tested by Weckenmann, which correspond optimally with this year's key theme of BAUMA such as "Digital construction Site" or "The way to zero emissions".

On the other hand, it is equally clear that there is always something new in terms of automation, especially at a BAUMA: The Dormettinger Company is presenting its new generation of a modular master computer and control solution WAvisionplus. Interested parties can get more information about plants and future topics in Hall B1 at booth 113.
