Turning technology for production of double walls

The Weckenmann turning unit is used for the production of cavity double walls. The first cured double wall shell is turned into the freshly concreted second double wall shell and compacted.

Our turning units are used in the manufacture of double-wall elements (or core-insulated walls) from concrete.

The manufacturing process of double walls is divided into two runs. After being cured, the first shell of the double wall is immersed into the not yet cured second shell waiting on a shuttering pallet. The first shell must be exactly identical in form and positioned parallel to the second shell before being fixed.

Technically, this can be done in two ways:

  1. A vacuum turning device positions the first shell after demoulding and turns it into the second shell.
  2. A pallet (lifting and) turning device positions the first shell of the double wall including shuttering pallet and turns it safely and accurately into the second shell in an exactly congruent position. In this operation the first shell of the double wall must be securely clamped.
