Formwork robots

WECKENMANN have been offering shuttering robots since 1992, and they have been working actively, in difficult conditions, in more than 80 precast concrete element plants up to today.

The advantages of shuttering robots are clear for all to see:

  • The robots place difficult shuttering profiles in a precise and mistake-free manner on the shutters, using CAD-data.The erection time for precast concrete elements is therefore drastically reduced.
  • They activate the inserted magnets (this can vary according to the profile system).
  • Any missing information is plotted accordingly.
  • They are also capable of deshuttering shuttering profiles which have been previously scanned.
  • The robots sort the profiles accordingly into a temporary storage area.
  • They can also place components such as electrical sockets,  inserts, magnetic boxes, cut outs etc in the exact position required on the formwork. Face brickwork can also be automatically applied to the pallet.
  • As part of a special procedure, separation oil can be applied to designated points.

WECKENMANN - Shuttering robots are available in various constructional forms.

  • The robot with a Z-Axis (vertical axis) a basic version).
  • The Twin-Z robots with two Z-axes for significantly greater outputs (even with more cumbersome formwork profiles).
  • The insertion robot which is used for all the component placing operations.
  • The feeder robot. The optimal choice when dealing with comprehensive shuttering systems which require a lot of space.

    • All moveable axen are equipped with high-dynamic and maintenance-free servo motors. There are various kinds of grab systems for the different kinds of shuttering profile types and components, magnets, face brickwork etc., which also feature a grip alternation unit.

Technical details

  • Work area X-axis: can be located as close as desired
  • Work area Y-axis: up to 16m range distance
  • Cycle time per formwork profile: 20 s (Benchmark Twin-Z Robots) / 32 s (Benchmark Robots with a Z-Axis).
